Citizen mourning on Monday 21 September in Milan for the funeral of Sandro Mazzola .
The farewell to the great champion and Nerazzurri icon is scheduled for 2:45 pm in the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio.
On the same day, as a sign of further mourning and support from the Milanese community, the civic flag will be flown at half-mast in all municipal buildings. A day of mourning is also planned in Vedano al Lambro, the small town bordering Monza where the former footballer lived for years.
In the last few hours, dozens of messages of condolence and affection have been sent to Mazzola. Inter wore a black armband during last night's match at the Olimpico against Roma, which ended 2-2.
