Tourists evacuated from the beaches are being evacuated onto Coast Guard boats. At sea, Coast Guard vessels are picking up tourists along the coastal road between Peschici and Vieste, in the Gargano Peninsula, where a large fire has been raging since late morning, reaching even the coastal areas.

The Municipality of Peschici announced that "the elementary school building on Via Montesanto has been opened to accommodate anyone in need of assistance or a safe place."
