7 years after the disappearance of Maria Chindamo, of whom traces were lost in May 2016, the truth arrives. This is the bleak picture that emerges from the maxi operation against organized crime conducted by the carabinieri of the provincial command of Vibo Valentia and by the Ros, which led to the dismantling of the gangs of Mileto and Zungri and the execution of 84 precautionary measures.

Maria Chindano, 44 years old, three children and widow after her husband Vincenzo Puntoriero had committed suicide for not having resisted the separation, could not start a new life. She had to be punished. And to think that she had gone back to studying at university and wanted to become an agricultural entrepreneur.

«They did not forgive her freedom and the management of the land she inherited, on which the appetites of a 'Ndrangheta family rested. And also his new love," said Gratteri.

So Maria, three days after posting the photo with her new partner on social media, vanished into thin air.

"You could not afford - added Gratteri - the luxury of starting a new life, of managing that land in an entrepreneurial way and of being able to take care of and raise your children in a free way and leaving the mafia mentality".
