Marco Poggi breaks his silence 19 years after the murder of his sister Chiara, killed on August 13, 2007 in the family villa in Garlasco .
Chiara's brother, a close friend of Andrea Sempio, who is under investigation in the new investigation into the crime, was interviewed on Quarto Grado, the Rete 4 program that aired a preview of the interview that airs this evening, Friday, June 5th.
"What saddens me most is that they've ruined Chiara's image," said Marco, interviewed several times as part of the new investigation by the Pavia prosecutor's office. "They've started talking about me too, speculating. My family is back in the thick of it, more than ever. We hope to turn the page sooner or later."
Poggi, who is a civil plaintiff in the case and has never been investigated, also spoke about the various journalistic speculations and hypotheses that have circulated in recent months: "My sister's death and life were at stake. Being accused of involvement hurt me. Those who investigated could have dampened certain leads."
Alberto Stasi was definitively convicted of the murder, but the Pavia Prosecutor's Office reopened the case, accusing Sempio of killing Chiara Poggi because he rejected her approach after watching intimate videos on the victim's computer.
