Femicide in Castelnuovo del Garda, Verona. A man attacked his partner at home, stabbing her to death. Carabinieri have arrested him and are investigating.

The victim, of Brazilian origin, reportedly moved into the apartment the man (also Brazilian) had purchased about a year and a half ago. It has been learned that the woman had previously called the police for abuse, but later withdrew the complaint. And because of the violent family climate, she had been stripped of custody of her daughter from a previous relationship.

The alarm was raised by some of the victim's friends who hadn't heard from her since Saturday and became concerned when she wasn't answering calls and messages. The tragic discovery was made this morning.

Investigators from the Carabinieri RIS are conducting their investigations, and the coroner will determine the date and time of death.
