Man attacked by his pitbull: his wife saves him by killing the dog with a knife.

A man was taken to hospital in Rome overnight in serious but non-life-threatening condition following an attack by his pit bull.

According to initial reconstructions, while he was at home he was attacked by his dog and only managed to free himself thanks to the timely intervention of his wife, who, armed with a kitchen knife, struck the animal, killing it.

Carabinieri officers from the Capena station arrived at the couple's home following a report to the emergency number 112.

The knife was seized while the animal's carcass was entrusted to the staff of the ASL Roma 4.
