The State Police arrested a man living in the province of Brescia on charges of aggravated sexual assault against his minor daughter, who became pregnant as a result of the abuse.
The order was carried out by the Flying Squad pursuant to a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of the Brescia court at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The incident came to light after the child was taken to the emergency room by her mother for severe abdominal pain; medical tests confirmed she was pregnant, prompting reports and the launch of an investigation.
According to investigators' findings, the minor was allegedly abused for years by her father, who allegedly exploited his position within the family. The father has been transferred to prison. Investigations are continuing to clarify the family context and the evidentiary framework.
