Three people were seriously injured, one of them airlifted to Umberto I Hospital in Rome, following a violent two-vehicle collision this morning at kilometer 680 of the A1 motorway, one kilometer from the San Vittore del Lazio toll booth on the southbound carriageway.

The collision was very violent and required the intervention of the Cassino Fire Brigade to free the three injured people from the wreckage.

Two of them were transported in red code to the Santa Scolastica hospital in Cassino, while the third, in more critical conditions, was airlifted to Rome .

To allow the 118 air ambulance to land, the affected stretch of motorway was temporarily closed, with limited traffic impact thanks to the morning schedule.

The local traffic police unit, along with Cassino medical personnel, arrived on the scene, carrying out surveys and launching investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
