Last day of Covid state of emergency in Italy, after more than two years of extensions. Even if the increase in infections does not bode well: yesterday alone in Sardinia another two thousand cases , in Italy over 77 thousand .

From tomorrow some rules related to the Green pass and use of masks will begin to fall and the provisions on isolation and quarantine will change, as specified in a circular from the Ministry of Health. The color system of the Regions will disappear, and the Scientific Technical Committee and the structure of the Extraordinary Commissioner Francesco Figliuolo will expire: in its place, a unit for the completion of the vaccination campaign and the adoption of other anti-virus measures, led by the major General of the Army Tommaso Petroni.

THE NEW RULES - From 1 April the green certificate will no longer be used to enter shops, public offices, banks and post offices, hotels and b & bs, to go to the hairdresser and tobacconist, to practice outdoor sports or to sit at the outdoor tables of bars and restaurants. Instead, the basic one (vaccine or buffer) will be needed until April 30 to consume at the counter and in the indoor rooms, and to attend outdoor events and competitions.

Also until April 30, the obligation of a reinforced Green pass (vaccine or recovery) to take part in wedding banquets and birthday parties, as well as to go to the cinema, theaters, swimming pools, gyms, spas and discos (where the capacity returns to the 100%), attend conventions and congresses, attend concerts and indoor sporting events. The pass obligation expires as early as April 1 on buses and metro, where however you will have to continue to wear the Ffp2 mask. On airplanes, ships, ferries and non-regional trains, however, the basic pass will be required until 30 April. On the face masks, from May 1st it will no longer be compulsory to wear surgical devices indoors.

QUARANTINE - From tomorrow the rules also change on the quarantine for those who come into contact with the positives: self-surveillance for 10 days with the obligation of Ffp2 will be enough, while health workers will have to swab a day for 5 days. Those who contracted the virus will remain in isolation until a negative swab, to be performed after at least seven days, or ten for the unvaccinated.

At school only the positives will go to Dad, if the infections in the class are more than 4, there will still be lessons in person but everyone will have to wear the Ffp2 mask for 10 days.

INFECTIONS - But in the meantime the cases continue to rise . And if intensive care remains under control, hospitalizations in ordinary wards increase instead (in the last hours +131). According to the analysis of the mathematician Giovanni Sebastiani of the CNR, "the employment of patients in ordinary wards is equal to 15% at the national level and in accelerated growth, with an increase trend found in 16 regions".

On a weekly basis, the Fiaso (Italian Federation of Healthcare and Hospitals) records an increase for the second consecutive week in hospitalizations of Covid patients (+ 8.6%), which concerns only ordinary hospitalizations (+ 9.4%), not intensive care (-3.4%). There is also a rise in the curve of pediatric hospitalizations for Covid: + 23%.

VACCINES - On June 15, the vaccination obligation for school staff, soldiers, police officers and public rescue, local police will cease. These categories have already returned to work since 25 March (the day of the entry into force of the decree) with the basic Green pass by making the antigenic swab every two days.

However, teachers, although they can go back to school, cannot stay in contact with pupils, so they cannot enter the classroom and teach. The vaccine obligation will expire on June 15 also for the over 50s, and will remain in force until the end of the year only for healthcare personnel and RSA.
