The first migrant landing of the year took place in Lampedusa, where 30 Sudanese nationals arrived after an eight-meter dinghy was rescued by a finance patrol boat.

They said they set sail from Sorman, Libya, after paying 950 euros for the crossing. They were all taken to the hotspot in Contrada Imbriacola, which was empty.
