"The La Fenice Theatre Foundation, through Superintendent Nicola Colabianchi, announces that it has decided to cancel all future collaborations with Maestro Beatrice Venezi ." The Foundation announced this.
The decision, it is explained, was also made following the Maestro's repeated and serious public statements , offensive and detrimental to the artistic and professional value of the Fondazione Teatro La Fenice and its Orchestra. These statements, which we do not share in their merits and the opinions expressed, are incompatible with the Foundation's principles and with the protection and respect due to orchestra members.
"The Teatro La Fenice Foundation reaffirms its commitment to fostering a professional environment based on mutual respect, constructive collaboration, and artistic excellence." The decision follows Beatrice Venezi's comments in a recent interview with the Argentine newspaper La Nación. "I don't have godfathers," she said, "that's the difference. I don't come from a family of musicians. And this is an orchestra where positions are practically passed down from father to son ."
