A 72-year-old woman, Silvana Aru, originally from Fluminimaggiore , was killed late on Friday afternoon in Rome, in the Prato Fiorito area.

A 38-year-old friend of her children, Spartaco Salvatori, was said to have murdered the old woman, caught in her home, with hammer blows.

The 72-year-old, knowing the man, would have opened the door for him without problems. Then the murder, which allegedly occurred during an attempted robbery.

After the crime, the man, covered in blood, was stopped by one of the woman's sons, who then alerted the police.

The 38-year-old, who apparently acted under the influence of cocaine , was then stopped by the police, who are continuing their investigations to shed full light on the incident.
