"It was me and I know that what I did was monstrous." This is what Lorena Venier, the 61-year-old woman from Gemona (Udine) , admitted to the magistrate who was questioning her, confessing to killing and dismembering her 35-year-old son Alessandro.

"My client made a full confession in front of the deputy prosecutor who questioned her," confirmed her defense attorney Giovanni De Nardo . "As you can imagine , she was visibly shocked by the cruelty of her action and by the fact that her gesture violated any natural law."

According to initial investigations, the crime occurred a week ago, on the night of Friday 25 July, «but no reports of a

particular triggering dispute", specified the lawyer De Nardo.

«My client - he added - explained in detail

the sequence of events, completely excluding the

involvement of third parties other than the people who lived in the

home with her."

De Nardo, in compliance with the confidentiality of the investigation, did not

provided details on the motive - "which was completely

detailed» - nor on the modalities of the crime.

In addition to Venier, investigators arrested Marilyn Castro Monsalvo, a 30-year-old woman of Colombian origin, the victim's partner. Her questioning has been postponed and she will be interviewed by prosecutors at a later date.
