Heavy rain, tornadoes, and an unusual amount of lightning have hit Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Tuscany, Veneto, and Emilia Romagna in the last few hours, causing floods, inundations, landslides, and collapses that have left entire municipalities isolated and forced evacuations—over 350 in Lombardy alone.
Roads and bridges were also damaged, with some rail lines limited and Forlì airport closed for an hour. In Florence, a 75-year-old tourist was injured in the shoulder by a falling roof tile caused by strong winds, but her condition is not life-threatening.

Tuscany was hit by lightning —an estimated 21,000—and thunderstorms. Trees and branches fell everywhere, and power outages occurred due to fallen trees caused by the wind. In Lunigiana, firefighters rescued three people trapped under a landslide in Bagnone (Massa Carrara).
In Sant'Elpidio a Mare, in the Marche region, the roof of a building was blown off and some tiles hit parked cars.
