We investigate the case of the inmate who yesterday opened fire in the Frosinone prison with a gun that was even sent to him with a drone.

It happened in the afternoon, as Donato Capece, secretary general of Sappe reconstructs: "A 28-year-old detainee from Naples, restricted to High Security for crimes related to organized crime - Camorra -, once authorized to leave his cell to take a shower, pointed a gun in the face of the prison policeman and had the keys to the other cells delivered to him otherwise he would have killed him. Then he reached the cells of other inmates (Neapolitans and Albanians), who in recent days had threatened and beat him, and, after unsuccessfully trying to open them, fired three gunshots inside ”.

Apparently no one was hit.

After the shooting, the 28-year-old “called his lawyer who convinced him to hand over the gun to the staff of the Penitentiary Police promptly rushed. Which he did, not before swallowing the mobile phone sim card. Absurd and unbelievable ".

THE REACTIONS - According to Leo Beneduci, secretary of the Osapp union, "the fact is of unprecedented gravity and probably only chance has not led to more serious consequences". "While we have been waiting in vain for months for Minister Cartabia to strike a shot - the comment of Gennarino De Fazio, general secretary of the Uilpa Penitentiary Police - in the Frosinone prison the shots arrive, but from the gun in the possession of an inmate probably introduced with a drone At this point, we believe that it is necessary to set up a real crisis unit, perhaps under the aegis of Palazzo Chigi "because" the prisons are out of control "and" from the ministry they continue to show themselves helpless and inert ".

"We cannot accept - says Stefano Branchi, Fp Cgil - such an aberrant situation, the prison system is now inevitably compromised. Organic deficiencies, tools, training, resources and obsolete structures are now the tip of the iceberg that now lead to relapses more and more frequent and worrying ". For Aldo Di Giacomo, general secretary of the Penitentiary Police Syndicate Spp, "the prison has become the place for settling scores with gun shots between affiliated with organized crime. If immediate measures are not taken, including the strengthening of means and personnel , we will go back to the dark years of detained terrorists ".
