The Milan Court of Appeal, Labor Section, has declared null and void the first-instance ruling that, due to a failure to establish an adversarial process, led to the ordering of Avs MEP Ilaria Salis to pay monthly compensation, over €300,000, to Valentina Dadda and François Gelmetti, two of her former assistants who, they claim, were unjustifiably dismissed. The ruling was recently sent to the parties. The judges granted the request of the MEP's lawyers. The case therefore returns to the Court.

"I welcome the decision of the Milan Court of Appeal," Salis commented. "As I have maintained from the beginning, I was not given the opportunity to learn about the proceedings and exercise my right to defense."

The first-instance trial took place in my complete and blameless absence. A surreal situation.
