Husband and wife found dead at home: murder-suicide hypothesis

An 80-year-old man and woman have been found dead in Florence. His body, an Italian, was on the stairs, that of the woman - who would have French origins - inside the apartment in the Coverciano area.

It was the couple's son who raised the alarm: he had heard them on the phone and had gone to visit them this morning. A note was found at the scene in which the husband apologizes for the gesture .

The Florence prosecutor's office will order the autopsy but the most probable hypothesis is that of a murder-suicide. The old woman would have been seriously ill.
