During the night in Baldissero d'Alba, in the Cuneo area, a man surprised some thieves in the courtyard of his property and, according to an initial reconstruction, he fired several shots in the dark with a pistol, which he legally owned, killing one of the intruders .
According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. in a farmhouse undergoing renovation. The owner, a 35-year-old Italian man who lives near the city center, rushed to the scene as soon as he heard the noise coming from the nearby farmhouse. He then allegedly opened fire, hitting one person. The victim is a 36-year-old man with a criminal record, of Albanian origin, and a resident of Turin.
According to investigators, there were at least five thieves; the others fled. The 35-year-old himself called for help and the intervention of the Carabinieri, but attempts to revive the injured man were unsuccessful .
The man has already been questioned by investigators, he is under investigation for murder and the property has been seized .
The neighbor
A neighbor, Amelio Marchisio, defends him : "There is little control here and thieves can do as they please. I am not armed, but if I had found them here, I would have beaten them with a club... According to him,

Marchisio himself was the victim of a burglary, just today, in broad daylight : "In this town, there are lots of houses for sale and there's not much going on; everyone minds their own business. Unfortunately, if one neighbor is robbed, the other neighbor doesn't notice; it's a remote town. It happened to me this morning; my house was in a state of disarray; we're still sorting everything out. They opened the door, but it was locked. They took two gold earrings with pearls from my sister, a gold necklace , and a necklace that wasn't anything special. I just happened to have taken everything upstairs: luckily, I had my wallet and cell phone with me."
