The Bari Public Prosecutor's Office has closed its investigation into a former employee of Intesa Sanpaolo, formerly employed at the Agribusiness branch in Bisceglie and fired in August 2024, who for years—using his own credentials—allegedly monitored the sensitive and financial data of 3,572 customers in a "covert, systematic, and prolonged" manner.

Among the victims of this "asset espionage" are the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the President of the Senate Ignazio Maria La Russa, and the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto.
