They renovate an apartment to open a tourist accommodation and put it on the Booking platform.

But the last customers don't leave anymore, on the contrary... They occupy the premises and illegally connect to the utilities.

It happens in Pontevigidarzere, a suburb of Padua. The house has been occupied by about thirty people since last October 16th.

The owner initially called a patrol of the Carabinieri, who managed to dissuade the occupants, who however re-entered by forcing the locks and connected themselves to the neighbors' utilities.

The owner's complaint has been useless, at least so far: "We also fear for those who live in the neighboring apartments," he says. "The other evening they probably set fire to one of the rooms, there was a strong smell of smoke, I think they tried to warm up, since we turned off the gas. The firefighters also intervened, there is a risk that they will set fire to the house. I thought with the short-term or tourist rental I would not run into problems and instead I found myself in a nightmare. I hope that the institutions will act as soon as possible, because I understand that there is no other choice."
