This is the charge brought by the Catania Public Prosecutor's Office against a 58-year-old man who was arrested by the postal police, who seized a large quantity of child pornography images and videos, including those featuring child victims.

The man was arrested in flagrante delicto. After a validation hearing before the investigating judge, he was placed under house arrest .

The investigation, coordinated by the Catania District Attorney's Office for the protection of minors and vulnerable groups, stems from a report by an Italian man whose account contained images and videos of child pornography. The report was submitted by the U.S. NGO National Center for Missing Exploited Children (NCMEC) to the National Center for the Fight against Online Child Pornography (CNCPO) of the Postal Police in Rome, which forwarded the report to its colleagues in the Catania capital.

Computer investigations by cyber specialists at the Catania Postal Police have identified the person as a teaching assistant at a middle school in the province, against whom the Prosecutor's Office has issued an immediate warrant for a personal and computer search.

A significant amount of child pornography material was found on his computer devices.
