Murder-suicide this morning in the Modena area: an 86-year-old man killed his 89-year-old wife and then jumped from the third floor of the building where the couple lived. The incident occurred in Mirandola.

According to reports, her husband strangled her and then jumped. Officers from the nearby police station are on the scene and are now investigating.

The victim appears to have suffered from senile dementia.

A few days ago in Castelfranco, also in the Modena area, another pensioner killed his elderly wife, who suffered from Alzheimer's, by slitting her throat. The man had jumped from a window, dying instantly.
