A mother and her 13-year-old disabled son were hit this afternoon on Via De Nicola in Milan by a 61-year-old man who did not stop to provide assistance.

The woman and the boy were transported to the hospital with a yellow code and their conditions are not serious. According to the initial investigations by the local police, the woman and the boy were crossing on the pedestrian crossing when a car, a gray small car, suddenly hit them, making them fall to the ground and destroying the 13-year-old's wheelchair.

The man driving, after the impact, stopped to look closely at the woman lying on the ground and then immediately got back behind the wheel, driving away quickly. Tracked down shortly after, the 61-year-old was arrested for failure to provide assistance.
