Checks are underway in Palermo to shed light on the death of a 62-year-old man who died at the Policlinico of the Sicilian capital while he was waiting for a visit.

From what we learn, the man had arrived in the emergency room in yellow code. After three hours of waiting to be examined, his condition suddenly worsened and the man passed away.

After the incident, the family filed a complaint with the carabinieri and the Palermo prosecutor opened an investigation, also arranging an autopsy. In addition, medical records were seized.

"We are verifying the patient's path - they say from the Policlinico - From the first checks it appears that upon arrival, through 118, at our emergency room there were three critical cases at the same time. The patient came to us from other emergency rooms citizens. We ensure that we are verifying any responsibilities that could affect more health organizations and at the same time we represent our closeness to the family for what happened ".
