"It must be understood." Because it was she who "disintegrated a twenty-year marriage blessed by the birth of two children." She also allegedly "communicated the separation in a brutal manner." And therefore, the defendant's "bitterness" caused by the "dissolution of the domestic community was humanly understandable."

These are some of the passages of the Turin Court's ruling, which did not acquit, but sentenced to just 18 months (without prison) the man who on July 28, 2022, beat Lucia Regna to death. Regna's face had been reconstructed with 21 titanium plates and she had suffered permanent damage to an optic nerve: her ex-partner had banged her head against the marble and kicked her in the face.

The news was reported in La Stampa.

As part of the criminal proceedings, the prosecutor had requested a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence. The judge handed down a suspended sentence of one year and six months for the crime of assault. The woman's further "offense" was that she had requested €100,000 in damages, which is why she was deemed to have "gross interests."
