The former president of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti has been released .

After more than 89 days in court for preliminary investigations, Paola Faggioni accepted the request to revoke house arrest presented by lawyer Stefano Savi.

Toti will therefore be able to leave his villa in Ameglia, in the province of La Spezia, where he has been under house arrest since 7 May, accused of corruption .

The resignation from the role of governor was decisive, following which for the judge there would no longer be the risk of repeating the crime , the reason with which the precautionary measure was ordered.

«Giovanni Toti welcomed the judge's decision with great satisfaction. He was waiting for this measure. Now he has no constraints. He will resume his life as a free man and as such will be able to do everything a free citizen does, including politics ", declared the lawyer Stefano Savi.
