Tomorrow could be a Black Monday for transportation, especially for many citizens in Sardinia. A general strike has been called in the public and private sectors, proclaimed by the USB union for the entire day in support of the humanitarian mission for the Palestinian people.

The rail sector will be shut down from midnight to 11 p.m.; local public transport, maritime transport, freight transport, and logistics will continue to operate for 24 hours, but with varying schedules. Taxis will also be closed from midnight.

CUB, SGB, Adl Varese, and Usi-Cit have also announced a work stoppage for rail freight transport from 9:00 PM on September 21st to the same time on September 22nd; motorways will be on a 24-hour strike from 10:00 PM on September 21st, and ports will also be on a full-day strike.

Another 24-hour general strike has been called for October 3rd by the inter-industry union Cobas in the railway sector: the strike will begin at 9:00 PM on October 2nd. A day of protest is expected in the airline industry on September 26th. Cub Trasporti has called a 24-hour strike for workers in the airline, airport, and related sectors. Wizz Air Malta Limited hostesses and stewards, members of Filt Cgil, and Volotea staff will also be on strike for 24 hours due to the strike decided by Uilt. Sogaersecurity workers at Cagliari airport will also be on strike for 24 hours. National protests on the same day, lasting four hours, have been called by confederal and grassroots unions at the airport level. Among the hardest hit are Milan's Linate and Malpensa airports.

October opens with a 24-hour strike on the 3rd (starting at 9:00 PM on October 2nd) by Cobas (unions of workers representing the public and private railways). A 24-hour strike will also be held on the 21st for a national assembly of RFI infrastructure maintenance workers and a strike called by Cobas (private sector workers/railway workers coordination). Local public transport strikes are already scheduled for September 22nd to October 10th in various regions. A national strike by ENAV radar operators, announced by Astra (Italian Railways Authority), is already scheduled for November 11th, starting at 1:00 PM.
