Alessandro Gassmann weighs in on one of the summer's most hotly debated topics, taking a swipe at beach resorts. Empty beaches? "Maybe you've overcharged."
The actor and director posted a photo on Instagram of an empty beach with closed umbrellas, with the Righeira song "L'estate sta finendo" playing in the background.
This is his post: "Dear beach resort owners, I read that the season isn't going well. Why do you think that is? Perhaps you've overdone the prices a bit, and the country's economic situation is pushing Italians to choose a public beach? Lower the prices and things will perhaps improve. Do you understand how?"
"Crocodile tears" are being shed from beach resorts, according to Codacons , citing Istat data, which cites rates rising 32.7% from 2019 to today . These price increases make a day at the beach "a drain on families, to the point that many, as beach resort data shows, are giving up paid beaches altogether."
