The evidentiary incident as part of the new investigations into the Garlasco crime began at 10.30 in the offices of the Scientific Police of the Milan Police Headquarters in via Fatebenefratelli.

From today, in fact, and it will take at least 90 days, the experts of the parties begin to work on the findings of the investigation, old and new. The game is played entirely on scientific ground, the result on DNA and fingerprints being decisive .

In the offices of the Scientific Police of the Police Headquarters, the first act of the unrepeatable investigation concerns the verification of the custody reports and the state of conservation of the findings collected last Thursday.

The officials of the investigating judge of Pavia, Daniela Garlaschelli, are Denise Albani and Domenico Marchigiani, the consultants of the prosecutors are Carlo Previderè and Pierangela Grignani. The consultants of the defense of Andrea Sempio, the only suspect in the inquiry, are Luciano Garofano, who was the commander of the Parma RIS who initially dealt with the case, and Luigi Bisogno, former senior inspector of Ps retired since 2010 and with considerable experience in the field of fingerprinting. For Chiara's parents and brother there are Marzio Capra, Dario Redaelli and Calogero Biondi and for Alberto Stasi, Ugo Ricci and Oscar Ghizzoni.

The statements

Lawyer Giada Bocellari, who is defending Alberto Stasi in the investigation that sees Andrea Sempio under investigation, believes "that the findings were preserved as they should have been" . The lawyer does not comment on trace 97F found on the left wall of the house that the press is talking about and that could belong to the murderer. "It was told to me but I don't know what they are talking about. I think it will have to be examined", she said. "If we do the tests it is because we expect something. Then whether there is actually something, that is another matter. Obviously we will see, 18 years have passed", added Bocellari, underlining that some findings have never been analyzed .

"I believe in Andrea Sempio's innocence until proven guilty and I don't expect sensational results," says former general and commander of the RIS Luciano Garofano, now a defense consultant . "To begin with, we will evaluate the chain of custody and the state of conservation of those finds and we will begin to take samples. We will go and verify the state of the finds, which is fundamental ."

For the consultant of Chiara Poggi's family, Dario Radaelli , it is "objective to have doubts" about the conservation of the finds at the center of the evidentiary incident. This is because, he said upon his arrival at the police station for the preliminary investigation, "it seems that these finds were preserved at room temperature, but we will see them".

The finds

But what are these findings? Fragments of the bloody mat found in the bathroom of the Poggis' villa in via Pascoli, the objects (never analyzed) found in the garbage in the Poggi house and those present in the living room where Chiara was having breakfast before opening the door to her murderer (or murderers). To be precise: "A small plastic plate, two empty Fruttolo tubs, an empty EstaThe container with a straw, plastic from the Fruttolo package, empty plastic package originally presumably containing biscuits, a light blue plastic bag used as a garbage can, two light blue plastic bags used to carry out inspections and collection of the contents of the garbage and a bag containing cereals". All objects, as stated in the request by the prosecutors to carry out the evidentiary incident, "have never been subjected to genetic analysis or have provided a dubious result" and today can "be subjected to genetic investigation in light of the increase in analytical sensitivity achieved by the most recent commercial kits for characterizing DNA profiles and the most advanced laboratory equipment, having evidently never been compared with the DNA of the current suspect".

Then, in addition to the objects, there are the prints. Thirty para-adhesives of the prints found at the crime scene: there is no number 33, already attributed to Sempio, there is number 10 left on the door of the Poggi house and probably belonging to the murderer . This is material collected 18 years ago by the RIS and discarded because it was considered useless or, at the time, insufficient for any examination .

There are also genetic profiles extracted from Chiara's nail margins , to be compared with Sempio's DNA and with those of Stasi and all the people who frequented the Garlasco villa. The Prosecutor's Office, in fact, has collected the DNA of all the people who frequented the Poggi house.
