A woman and her son were found dead at their home in Partinico, on Via Lorenzo Perosi, possibly due to fumes. Emergency medical services arrived and confirmed the couple's death, while the Carabinieri are investigating. Firefighters are also on the scene and are conducting tests to determine the nature of the fumes.
According to an initial hypothesis, death was caused by fumes coming from some tanks used for harvesting grapes located in a garage under the house.
The first to go downstairs was the son, who reportedly lost consciousness. The mother called the boy, who was unresponsive, and then went downstairs, also dying. Some time ago, two brothers had died in Partinico from the same causes.
