A four-and-a-half-year-old boy drowned today in a water park in Monopoli, in the province of Bari.
The little one, who was with his family, was using one of the swimming pools of the structure when, while playing some water games, he probably hit his head falling into the water and never recovered.
Desperate attempts to revive the child were in vain, and he was also transported to the hospital after first aid was provided on the spot.
The carabinieri are investigating the matter, who are also trying to reconstruct the last moments of the child's life through the images of the cameras inside the water park, who ended up in the water in a point where he did not touch. The military are also acquiring some testimonies from those present.
The Bari Public Prosecutor's Office coordinates the investigations.
