The promise of a new life, a stable job and regular documents: this is how he tricked his fellow countrywomen into coming to Italy. Instead, he forced them into prostitution, with violence, subjecting them to the voodoo ritual. For this reason, a Nigerian woman was arrested today in the Foggia area by the State Police: she is accused of having been responsible, from 2017 to 2021, for the crimes of enslavement and human trafficking.
In order to regain their freedom and their documents, which were withheld once they arrived in Italy, the victims would have to pay 25 thousand euros plus interest, as a "reimbursement of travel expenses", earnings deriving from sexual services that the women had to undergo with clients selected by the Nigerian.
The arrested woman was tracked down by law enforcement after a series of complex investigations by the Flying Squad of the Naples Police Headquarters.
