An 88-year-old man from Foggia who was hit by a scooter while riding on Viale Michelangelo in Foggia died after more than a week in the hospital . The accident occurred late in the afternoon of March 8th.

The elderly man's injuries were so severe that he remained in a coma, even after surgery to reduce a cerebral hematoma. According to reports, the scooter was being ridden by a boy just over 13 years old (the law allows electric scooters to be ridden by anyone aged 14 and over).

The 88-year-old's family filed a complaint with law enforcement . This is the first death resulting from a scooter accident in the province of Foggia.
