A 27-year-old Red Cross worker, resident in the Forlì area, is being investigated by the Forlì Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of multiple homicide for the deaths of five elderly people in ambulances between February and the summer of 2025.
All deaths occurred during the transfer from home to the hospital, with the same worker present on the emergency vehicles. The investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Forlì Operational Unit with the support of the NAS (National Anti-Corruption Agency), is ongoing. The man, currently off duty, denies all charges.
"He is shocked by what is emerging," the 27-year-old's lawyer, Gloria Parigi of the Forlì-Cesena court, told Corriere di Romagna. "He proclaims his innocence in a matter that has turned his life upside down. He has made himself available to the judicial authorities because he has nothing to hide. That's why he asked to be heard by the prosecutor's office."
The suspect has not yet been interviewed by the Carabinieri or magistrates, but has reportedly already provided documentation to support his innocence. The defense emphasizes that in all the disputed cases, a doctor was on board, with transportation provided by the Romagna Soccorso medical vehicle. The local health authority, involved in the case, has reportedly already rejected his possible return to duty.
