"That of the Montecarlo apartment was the most painful story for me, I was deceived by Giancarlo Tulliani and his sister Elisabetta ".
The former Speaker of the Chamber Gianfranco Fini said it in the Chamber at the trial in Rome which sees him accused of money laundering , among others, together with his partner, her brother and father Sergio Tulliani.
The proceeding also concerns the sale of the Montecarlo apartment: a house of about 70 square meters, part of the inheritance of a countess, Anna Maria Colleoni, left in 1999 to the National Alliance.
" They insisted that I put the property up for sale," Fini reconstructed . The apartment was therefore bought by a mysterious off-shore company (which the Tullianis would have been behind) for about 300 thousand euros , a bargain price compared to the real value which exceeded one million euros.
According to the prosecutors, the house would have been purchased through a rather smoky operation and thanks to the money of the "king of slots" Francesco Corallo . The former leader of AN, before the judges of the fourth collegial section, recounted that "Giancarlo told me that a company was interested in buying it but I didn't know that he and his sister were part of the company: his disloyalty and willingness to deceive and cheating, I believe, has proven itself on a whole series of occasions».
Not only that: the same apartment was then resold for one million and 360 thousand euros. It was only in December 2010, Fini said, that he discovered that the owner of the house had become Tulliani «and I broke off relations with him . Even Elisabetta's behavior hurt me: I only found out from the trial documents that she was the co-owner of the apartment and then I also learned that her brother repaid her part of the proceeds from the sale . All facts that I did not know before.
Among the people who ended up on trial was the former Forza Italia parliamentarian Amedeo Laboccetta: "I was involved in this trial following dozens of false statements made by Labocetta - said Fini - out of a political hatred towards me, which was well known. 2010 was the year of my clash with Silvio Berlusconi, the climate had become incandescent and in the eyes of many I was a target to hit».
