"The opposition to the request for archiving has been filed". The news is official, Piera Maggio announced it on social media through a message. The lawyer Giacomo Frazzitta for Piera Maggio, and Piero Marino for Piero Pulizzi have filed the request for opposition to the request for filing presented to the Public Prosecutor of Marsala to the Gip for the new investigation a few months ago on the kidnapping of little Denise, mysteriously disappeared from Mazara del Vallo.
The Public Prosecutor of Marsala had asked for the filing of Giuseppe Della Key and Anna Corona, entered in the register of suspects last May for the kidnapping of little Denise. During these 30 days from the news, the lawyer Frazzitta, together with his team, studied the amount of documents, over 4000 pages. And we are not just talking about the investigation but pointing the finger at the TV and talk shows that followed this case.
"The influence of the media is at such a point that they do not limit themselves to telling the events rather, often in a competition for who arrives first between different newspapers, to provoke them - write the prosecutors - And such events also have an unpleasant reference on ongoing investigations ". There are many suggestions that have led several people to tell untrue facts and circumstances, indeed completely invented.
It was 8.30 in the morning of a September 1st 2004 which seemed like any other day. Piera Maggio entrusts her two children to her mother to go to the computer course. Everything changes at 12.30, when she receives a call telling her that Denise, her little girl, has disappeared and everyone is looking for her. Piera immediately rushes home, in via Domenico La Bruna, on the outskirts of the town, near the cemetery. On Wednesday morning, about 500 meters as the crow flies, the local market takes place.
The woman stresses to the investigators that the little girl would never go away alone. The last trace of the child dates back to 11.35 that morning, when she was playing in the garage-kitchen with her grandmother while she was preparing food. Denise suddenly became aware of her little cousin's presence and ran after him but the little cousin didn't see her. The question still remains, after so many years: where is Denise? Who kidnapped her? Because? Where now?
