A 15-year-old girl died last night at the Cardarelli hospital in Campobasso, where she had been admitted due to a persistent illness that had lasted several hours.
Food poisoning is suspected from fish consumed during the holidays , but other hypotheses have not been ruled out at the moment and medical checks are underway to establish the causes of the tragedy.
Death occurred after a rapid and dramatic deterioration in her condition; it appears the young woman had been feeling unwell for days. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of the tragedy.
The student lived in Pietracatella, in the province of Campobasso, and attended the classical high school in the capital of Molise.
