A fatal illness, during the night between Saturday and Sunday, cut short the life of a young Sardinian emigrant who had recently moved to the province of Cuneo .

It is - reports the local press - Lorenzo Basciu , 27 years old originally from Sant'Antioco .

The alarm was raised by his sister, who was unable to get in touch with the young man.

Carabinieri, firefighters and 118 operators then intervened in his home - in the Municipality of Caraglio.

However, rescue efforts for Basciu, employed in a company that produces lifters, were in vain.

According to a first hypothesis, the 27-year-old - who, it seems, had suffered from heart problems for some time - would have been fatal to a heart attack.

The local prosecutor ordered an autopsy.
