Two newborn girls exchanged in the cradle, one sues the Puglia Region and obtains, thanks to a sentence of the Civil Court of Trani, compensation of one million euros .

The story concerns a 33-year-old from Canosa in Puglia who only at 23 was able to join her real family, mother, father and brother, recipients of compensation together with her.

The sentence comes ten years after the discovery of the cradle exchange of two girls born on June 22, 1989 in the Canosa hospital.

Caterina believed she had given birth to Lorraine, instead she was Antonella's mother. She and her husband must be compensated for 215 thousand euros , 81 thousand euros instead will go to the other child "for not having been able to fully live the parental relationship". Antonella, on the other hand, is entitled to about half a million euros , she had asked for three.

Her life was difficult: what she believed was her mother abandoned her as a child, while her alleged father mistreated her to the point of ending up in an orphanage and then up for adoption . It went better for Lorena, who still had a difficult relationship with her alleged parents.

The discovery of their true identity dates back to 2012, looking at photos on Facebook and noting similarities between women who had no connection. The suspicions were confirmed the following year with the DNA test : so they discovered that Antonella is the daughter of Caterina and Lorena di Loreta.
