Tomorrow in Rome, at the headquarters of Inaf, the National Institute of Astrophysics, the Italian candidacy for the Einstein Telescope, the research infrastructure for the detection of gravitational waves, will be presented.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will also take part in the event, scheduled to start at 4pm. On her return from an official visit to Tunisia, she will go to what used to be the astronomical observatory in via del Parco Mellini.

For ET, a project that Inaf defines as "of international scientific and technological impact", Italy has nominated the site of Sos Enattos, the disused mine in the Lula area. The challenge is with the Netherlands, which has Limburg as a candidate.

Several personalities will intervene tomorrow: Giorgia Meloni precisely, the Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, the ministers of the University and of Social Policies Bernini and Calderone, the undersecretary to the Prime Minister Alfredo Mantovano. Christian Solinas will also be there.

In addition, Giorgio Parisi, Nobel laureate and president of the Scientific Committee for the candidacy of Sos Enattos will participate; Ettore Sequi, Ambassador and Italian Head of Delegation in the Board of Governmental Representatives of Einstein Telescope; Antonio Zoccoli, President of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), the Institute that coordinates the national scientific consortium for the Italian candidacy for the research infrastructure.
