The Brescia Court of Appeal overturned the first instance sentence and sentenced the mayor of Calcinato, in the Brescia area, Nicoletta Maestri, her deputy Mirco Cinquetti and the local police commissioner Stefano Vergano for «the discriminatory nature of their conduct after the civil union of two employees".
The first appeal was rejected by the Labor section of the Court of Brescia. Now, however, the sentence that recognizes sexual discrimination.
