She died at the age of 76 at the San Paolo Hospital in Naples, and her wedding ring is missing . Her family reported the news to AVS MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli: "We're asking for it back; it has immense sentimental value for our father."

Lucia Riccio died Friday morning. "The woman, admitted to the emergency department, was taken to the mortuary where her relatives were waiting. After a few moments, her son immediately noticed the ring was missing ," Borrelli said. "A search in both the ward and the mortuary itself was futile. No one found the wedding ring."

Yet, as evidenced by the photos sent by the family to the MP, the ring marks were still visible on her left hand . "We arrived about two hours after the news that Mom had died," explains her son Marco Miraglia, "and after spending a few moments with her, we immediately realized that the wedding ring was missing. We went to the ward where she was hospitalized and I asked if they had removed it, but no one had seen it. Then we went back to the mortuary, and they didn't see anything there either . I contacted the security guards, who told me to file a report. We will do so to request the surveillance camera footage."

Borrelli's comment: "I sincerely hope that whoever took the ring will regain some dignity and return it immediately. This is an act that, if the circumstances of its deliberate removal are confirmed, I have no hesitation in calling despicable. We will continue to follow this story until the ring is returned to Mrs. Lucia's husband."
