Dramatic audio message from Carmen El Koudri, sister of Salim, who ran over 7 people in Modena last Saturday .
The woman is in tears: "It's difficult, it's impossible to find the right words. We're sorry, but that's not even the right word. There's no right word that can describe how sorry we are. Our thoughts are with the injured, their families, and everyone who lived through and witnessed Saturday's nightmare," she says in the message released by lawyer Fausto Gianelli. " We can't help but think about the lady who will never be able to walk again, about the destroyed families . It's horrible, I can't imagine how painful it must be," the woman continues.
Carmen El Koudri reflects on what happened to her brother recently: "We noticed he was struggling, different, but we thought it was the disappointment of not finding a job at 30. Never, ever would I have thought of something like that. We didn't see, we didn't grasp that something had changed in him ."
“She can’t find the words,” the woman. “I can say we’re sorry. We can’t even stop loving him. We’ll go visit him, but we don’t know when, and I don’t even know if we’ll be able to look him in the eye . I never would have imagined this, nor would my parents. Because he was always good, I’d even dare say top of the class. Studious, precise, tidy, always clean, even in his room. He was the perfect student and son . We grew up together, we lived together. We never had problems with the neighbors, with anyone we met in our lives. We were fine, I don’t understand what happened, I can’t understand,” the woman concludes, crying.
