Eight-year-old boy dies in highway crash while riding his father's motorcycle

An 8-year-old boy died in an accident on the A21 Turin-Piacenza motorway between the Felizzano toll booth and the Asti Est exit, heading towards Turin .
According to initial reconstruction, the child was riding a motorcycle driven by his father when, for reasons currently under investigation, the vehicle collided with a car . The impact apparently caused the motorcycle to lose control, which ended up hitting the side guardrail, throwing the two occupants. Rescue efforts for the child were unsuccessful.
Emergency medical teams responded to the scene with a helicopter, which landed directly on the roadway. Resuscitation attempts by paramedics were unsuccessful, and the child died from the severe injuries he sustained. The father, virtually unharmed and in a state of shock , was taken to Cardinal Massaia Hospital in Asti for psychological support.
Traffic was severely slowed to allow for rescue operations and vehicle removal. The Highway Police conducted the investigation.
