An earthquake was felt this morning in the provinces of Lucca, Pisa, and Massa Carrara. "Checks are underway with the regional system," said President Eugenio Giani. The magnitude 4.3 tremor occurred with its epicenter 7 kilometers west of Pisa.
Dozens of people took to the streets at public offices in downtown Pisa. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or damage.
"Hundreds of calls were made to the regional emergency number 112 following the strong earthquake, with many people taking to the streets," Giani explained. "There are currently no reports of injuries. Some evacuations are underway in the area as a precaution."
