He drove more than 32 hours in two days. Maximulta to an Uzbek truck driver stopped in Imperia by the Traffic Police, who charged him with 43 administrative fines for a total amount of over 17 thousand euros and withdrew his license.

The truck, owned by a Slovakian company, came from Eastern Europe and was headed to Spain with a load of ferrous material.

According to what was ascertained by the Polstrada officers, the truck driver, who had altered the use of the two tachograph cards in his possession, one of which was registered in the name of another person, had driven 18 hours on one day and 14 on the other , exceeding the expected driving times by far and putting his safety and that of others at risk.

Hence the fines and the withdrawal of the driving licence .

The law provides that a truck driver can drive a maximum of 9 non-consecutive hours per day.
