Drama of loneliness in Ancona. A 71-year-old, who lived alone and had no relatives in the city, was found dead in his apartment in Urbino. Perhaps struck down by an illness while sleeping, from the first investigations the death dates back to years ago, probably in the summer of 2018: the calendar hanging on a wall of the house would suggest so.

The body was in a very advanced state of decomposition.

No one had noticed his absence. His brother, who lives in Rome, hadn't heard from him for some time but had decided to call him: the number did not exist. He then went to Ancona, rang the intercom several times without getting an answer, and called 112.

Everything in the house was in order and the door was locked from the inside: the firefighters entered the apartment with the ladder truck, protected with gas masks. Investigators are also carrying out checks on the apartment's utilities to verify the hypothesis of a death that occurred years ago.
