The preliminary hearing and autopsy are scheduled for tomorrow on the body of little Domenico, the two-year-old who died at Monaldi Hospital. The heart transplant was severely damaged due to being transported in contact with dry ice.

Lawyer Francesco Petruzzi announced the news. "It's not a given," he added, "that the funeral will take place on Wednesday. The goal is to free little Domenico's body, but for that we'll have to wait until tomorrow."

Meanwhile, the motion to recuse Professor Mauro Rinaldi, one of the three experts appointed to the panel charged with conducting the preliminary investigation into the child's death, has been granted. Attorney Francesco Petruzzi announced this after meeting with investigating judge Mariano Sorrentino. Professor Ugolini Livi of Udine has been appointed in his place.
