Giuseppe Loiero and his mother Giovanna Anoia, respectively legal representative and manager of the production lines of Glg srl, settled for one year, with the sentence converted into a fine of 10 thousand euros each. They were accused of the manslaughter of Anna Bellisario, the 20-year-old who had eaten a tiramisu sold as vegan but which actually contained mascarpone that was lethal for her.
As emerged in Milan from the investigations of the prosecutor Luca Gaglio and the deputy Tiziana Siciliano, the young woman died on 5 February last year, after ten days in a coma, following the anaphylactic shock caused by the "Tiramisun" dessert with the Mascherpa brand, produced from Glg srl, which actually contained mascarpone and, therefore, traces of milk to which the girl was highly allergic.
A situation, ascertained by the Prosecutor's Office, was due to the fact that "vegan and non-vegan products were prepared in the same environment, at the same time on the same table" so that there was contamination between "preparations of animal origin" with "ingredients of vegetable".
As established today in the plea agreement, the disqualification measure was revoked for the defendants and there was "full compensation for the civil parties", the victim and her boyfriend, as stated by the defender Guido Camera. Furthermore, through the company Bdo Service, "all the remedial actions were carried out to ascertain that the company is now absolutely in order and that it has made a series of important improvements".
