The weekly data relating to Covid-19 in Italy continue to increase.
According to the monitoring of the control room, whose data are communicated by the Higher Institute of Health, the weekly incidence at national level has risen to 78 per 100 thousand inhabitants (05/11 / 2021-11 / 11/2021) against 53 per 100 thousand inhabitants last week (29/10 / 2021-04 / 11/2021, data from the Ministry of Health). The transmissibility index Rt also rises: in the period 20 October - 2 November 2021, the average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was equal to 1.21 (range 1.08 - 1.31), an increase compared to the previous week (when it was equal to 1.15) and stably above the epidemic threshold.
HOSPITALS - The level of occupancy of hospital beds increases due to Covid-19: the employment rate in intensive care is 4.4% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as of 11 November) against 4.0% (daily survey Ministry of Health as of November 4). The employment rate in medical areas at the national level rises to 6.1% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 11 November) against 5.3% on 28 October. However, the values remain below the alert threshold set at 10% and 15%.
All the Regions and Autonomous Provinces are classified this week at moderate risk, with the exception of Calabria at low risk. Friuli Venezia Giulia has a high probability of progression and risks yellow like Calabria, the Marches and the province of Bolzano.
REGIONAL DATA - In Sardinia the incidence remains at 32.3 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. The highest values are recorded in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (316.3 per 100 thousand inhabitants), Friuli Venezia Giulia (233.0) and Veneto (115.3). In two regions, on the other hand, the critical alert threshold of 10% with respect to the occupation of beds for Covid in intensive care has been exceeded or reached: they are the Marche (10%) and Friuli Venezia Giulia (10.9%) . No Region or Autonomous Province has exceeded the alert threshold of 15% for the occupation of beds in the medical departments.
